All Saints Church
The site was originally that of Saxon St. Mary’s but was rebuilt in the 14th Century by Archbishop Courtenay to become what has been called ‘the grandest Perpendicular church in England’. Of particular note are the medieval choir stalls and the Washington family memorial. Wheelchair access through the West door.

Stoneacre
A 15th century half-timbered Yeoman’s house, built as a hall-house with a central hall that rose the full height of the building. This National Trust property was restored in the 1920’s and is surrounded by beautiful cottage gardens and wildflower meadows.

Maidstone Town Hall
Built in 1752, The building was originally used as the magistrates court. Above the Council Chamber is the old prison cell still with graffiti carved by prisoners awaiting deportation.
The Town Hall is now home to the Maidstone Town Hall Visitor Information Centre, providing a first-class service for visitors and residents needing to know what’s on, where to eat or stay the night, and how to spend a delightful day in the County Town.

The Friars
England’s first Carmelite priory in 1242, was disposed of at the dissolution of the monasteries in 1538 by Henry VIII, but was restored in 1949 by Carmelite monks. Now an important pilgrimage centre, the medieval buildings are surrounded by tranquil gardens that are open for the public to view. There is wheelchair access to all areas.

Mote Park
450 acres of mature parkland with a 30 acre lake, providing a wide range of recreational activities. Pitch and Putt (18 holes), children’s play area, horse riding (permit only). The area around the lake is used as a cycling path. Mote Park also hosts Kent County Cricket matches and is home to Maidstone Leisure Centre.
A miniature railway gives rides to the public every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday afternoon from March until mid-October from 2.30pm – 5pm. For more information on the miniature railway visit the Maidstone Model Engineering Society website
